De La Warr Pavilion Mural

26th July 2021 - 1st January 2022

AOI Member Helen Cann I’m pleased to announce the exhibition of a large scale mural commissioned by the De La Warr Pavilion in Sussex.
“The piece maps the seas – the sandbanks, rocks, buoys and pipelines of Pevensey Bay – and their relationship with the De La Warr Pavilion and Bexhill. The Bay, part of the National Marine Conservation Area, is a border, constantly washing up visitors – invaders, tourists, migrants, refugees and those seeking health from sunshine and waters. All of their stories swim in the waves alongside the more topographical details.”
Originally drawn in pen and ink, then enlarged to be printed onto archival wallpaper. Read more details about the project in Helen’s blog.
