Drawing Diversity: Agent Industry Insights in Illustration

Online Events

An In-Conversation session with Agent James Childs. Book below or via our Eventbrite.

From our Diversity and Equality roundtable talks we understood that some illustrators would value a space to explore how to increase the diversity depicted in their illustration practice. This session is an exclusive and the 7th of a short series where we delve deeper into industry practices.

James Childs a former agent and now founder of Bold Child creative agency will share his pathway into the industry and what inspired him to launch his own agency. James, in conversation with AOI board director Montana Forbes, will discuss his experience of inspiring projects which explore diversity in illustration and why it is important to him. He shares insights into the process of working with illustrators, managing client expectations and the significance of representation and inclusivity in illustration and wider creative sectors.

The session will provide practical insights from an agent’s perspective, on the relationship between illustrators, agencies, and commissioners, championing diversity and cultivating a more robust illustration community.

This platform will allow a space to respectfully discuss varying approaches to depicting and advocating diversity.

Please note: This online event will not be recorded.
