CRISSCROSS Illustrator Meet-up – Doodlin’ & Chattin’ in Norwich

We’ve missed you, Norwich!

We want to carry on building the wonderful creative community we started gathering in 2019 and see all your glorious faces, and we think it’s time to try doing that in-person again. If you’re feeling anything like us, then the more low-pressure the better, so join us for a relaxed evening of doodling, meeting fellow Norwich creatives, and having some of the *amazing* food and drink St Andrews Brew House has to offer (plenty of vegan & veggie options, menu here)

We’ve hired out one of the nice big function rooms upstairs just for us. We’ll be providing basic drawing tools, a few prompts and games should you want them, and friendly faces a-plenty. There will also be a projector linked to a Padlet board which you can all add to throughout the night using your phone/tablet! Use it to showcase projects, where people can find you online, and lots more.

The evening will be perfect for: students, aspiring creators, professionals, and anybody else with a love for illustration & visual creativity. AOI members and non-members alike are all welcome. It’s the perfect opportunity to hang out, do some sketching, and catch-up/share what creative adventures have been happening in our fine city.

IMPORTANT: COVID safety on the night

• We are limiting the attendance to prevent crowding for this evening. The room has lots of windows which will be open to keep air circulated.
• We ask everybody attending to provide a negative lateral flow test result. However, due to current difficulties in obtaining lateral flow tests, we understand if this isn’t possible and would ask that you instead provide proof of full vaccination (including booster). We strongly advise all attendees to wear a mask when walking through the venue to reach our hired out room, located upstairs.
• Should the situation change in a way that we feel an in-person event would be irresponsible, the event will be moved online. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to get in touch at [email protected]

About CrissCross:Formally NorwichAOI, CrissCross is a meet-up group for illustrators in the fine city of Norwich hosted on behalf of, and supported by, the Association of Illustrators. We launched in early 2019 and ran several sold-out events in a range of fabulous venues in Norwich, then in 2020 we got rudely interrupted by… well… I don’t feel like you need reminding. Since then we’ve wanted nothing more than to get back into the city and start bringing the absolute abundance of creative folks Norwich has to offer together again.CrissCross is hosted by Charli Vince (co-founder, illustrator, and lecturer) and Ailish Beadle (illustrator, designer, and all-round visual wizard).
