Why did you choose to enter this work?
I want to show the emotions that longing to live a fulfilling life and vitality in this series, and hope people put more attention and care about mental health.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
This project incorporates many textures I have collected from everyday life, such as pancakes, pipes, and walls, which gives me lots of unexpected color combinations and I really love them.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I'm thrilled my illustrations about bipolar disorder have gained recognition from the judges. which gives my artworks the opportunity to reach a wider audience.
Where do you usually work?
I usually work in library, sometimes at home.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Roller Coaster Rider project takes me one and a half months, including thumbnails making, black and white comps, final works and revising.
What is your dream commission?
After I graduate in 2024, I really want to have the opportunity to work with The Journal of American Art Therapy Association, Scientific American, Spectrum News
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I want my works can show both a focus on concepts and a sense of storytelling. Refining hopes from pain and suffering, making the feelings and needs of people.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
I think observing surrounding and talk to more people can help our creative career.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to learn more about psychology and mental illnesses, to talk with more people and have more connections with the real world, I can make my artworks' foot on the ground, and help more people
