Why did you choose to enter this work?
Anima Mundi is one of my favorite self initiated projects I've been continuously developing. It came from observations of cycles of life in nature.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
That ever-looping animations are a perfect metaphor for a cyclical nature of the world.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's an honor to be between so many artists I admire!
Where do you usually work?
First ideas come on walks and trains, while eavesdropping and being silent. But the final work is created mostly at night, from the comfort and serenity of my house, surrounded by plants.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Every animation loop is at least one day of work.
What is your dream commission?
I would love to create animations for documentaries.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Bodies and mountains, and how bodies look like mountains.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Go where it's exciting for you, trust your gut, catch yourself when you are trying to please others than you.
What are your plans for the future?
I am working on my first animation short! And there is always so much to explore!
