Why did you choose to enter this work?
I chose to enter this work because, other than being an advertisement piece, it reflects what I enjoy creating as an artist, which is to deliver subtle humor through unique ideas.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I can't stop staring at the little dog every time I look at this piece... I think it enhances the charm that I try to communicate.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Despite it being a relatively simple image, it took some time to reach the result I'm satisfied with. When taking a minimalistic approach, the restrains make it harder to come up with a solution.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
It's a tip mentioned by many artists, but enjoy the process more than the result! Someone might like your work even though you're not happy with them:)
What are your plans for the future?
I'm a recent graduate and plan to become a freelance illustrator. It's scary to think what the future awaits and whether I made the right decision, but I believe that there is no right or wrong path.
