Why did you choose to enter this work?
This book was drawn just when the Russians attacked Ukraine and bombed Ukrainian cities.This is a very important book for me, as a moment of remembrance of the strength and courage of ever Ukrainian
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
In general, getting into the short list is already an extraordinary event for me! I'm happy
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I am pleased to think that the members of the jury felt the emotion and idea that I wanted to convey with my book. This is the magic of wordless books!
Where do you usually work?
I usually work at home. I have my work chair) that's what I call it. I take my iPad and start drawing. But this book had to be drawn far from home, when my family and I were forced to leave our home.
How long did it take to complete your project?
I didn't do any sketches, image searches, or stylistics for this book. I kept the story in my head and just drew it all. In less than a month my book was ready.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
It's difficult to answer, but what I know for sure is that I love making illustrations for children's books!
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
to be yourself in your creativity. To be grateful and believe in your vision of illustration
What are your plans for the future?
I want peace for Ukraine. Victory for Ukraine. This is the joint plan of every Ukrainian, and therefore mine too.
