2024 | Longlist | Design Product & Packaging

Why did you choose to enter this work?
To give it visibility, I hoped it could make people smile.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
Even though I made the project straight after giving birth to my daughter a year ago, I can still relate to the feelings now, as i'm sure many people can.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I am happy that more people will see my work and relate to this project.

Where do you usually work?
I converted the basement of my house in an atelier. I feel great in it, it is my creative space. There is the computer area and sculpting desk where I reseach, as well as an area for shooting projects

How long did it take to complete your project?
Three weeks (with a new born baby who despite the inspiration, definitely slowed me down).

What is your dream commission?
A collaboration with another artist, it could be a musician that I like or comedians.. there is many.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
People with mullets, fancy or elaborate clothes, and crowd scenes, anything that shows ranges of human expression.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Don't listen people that are putting you down about your work. If there aren't many artist doing your style at the moment, that might be a good thing.

What are your plans for the future?
I would like to finish the picture book that I am working on, and make a short film.
