Why did you choose to enter this work?
Clara and the Birds is my first picture book. I had a wonderful time making it and wanted to share the results.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love experimenting with different techniques to create interesting textures and in this project I had a lot of fun using ink rollers.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It is a great honour to have my project recognised and I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful group of creators.
Where do you usually work?
I have a dedicated work space at home, never far from the kettle for a lovely cup of tea.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
To have FUN and ENJOY what you are doing. Also, to draw from life as much as possible.
What are your plans for the future?
I am bursting with ideas for children's picture books and can't wait to make my next book!
