Why did you choose to enter this work?
This is my very first book cover commission ever!
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love the simplicity of the story and I love that it set up in a real book town called Jimbocho, Tokyo.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I’m excited to see what’s coming next! And also really excited that my work has been recognized in some way.
Where do you usually work?
I work in the corner of the living room in my house. There is one table for painting and one table for my secondhand IMac that I treasure so much! My work corner is always pretty messy.
How long did it take to complete your project?
It took around 4 weeks. 2 weeks for sketching and tweaking some ideas with the publisher.
What is your dream commission?
That would be a Food Packaging!
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Desserts
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Sketch a lot. Set up some personal project once in a while to explore the variety of subjects and techniques and have fun while doing it :)
What are your plans for the future?
I hope I can have a solo exhibition in Thailand and abroad.
