Participated in the "Please Insert Human Shanghai" project initiated by the Singapore team MashMinds.
I looked for a perspective to express Chinese culture.
In the Chinese zodiac, monkeys and rooster are two animals that match each other; we call this "yin and yang" in Chinese. The monkey's spirituality and rooster's perseverance complement each other.
How was the illustration used: This project mainly creates in VR, which can be watched in VR headset. The work was exhibited at the Facebook Exhibition at China International Import Expo in 2019. There are 4 Oculus VR headsets on the exhibition for viewers to watch the artworks and printed illustrations, which can be scan for Augmented Reality experience. The main characters of 3d printing are also on display.
How did you make this work: This project is mainly created with VR illustration and animation tool------------Oculus Quill. The image1 was created with Photoshop.

Biography:
Menghui is a Freelance Illustrator based in Shanghai working with illustration and animation. She graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a BFA in new media art. Menghui works on packaging and advertisement campaigns for Tencent, Alibaba, HUAWEI, Philips, etc.
