Aria of Menstrual Cramps pays a playful homage to monthly female misery. Menstruation is still a hush-hush subject surrounded by prejudices and embarassement. I'd like to change the way we talk (or not talk) about menstruation.
How was the illustration used: This is a personal non-commisioned illustration. I made it for a public exhibition in my home town and I currently use it as a postcard.

Biography:
Rina Jost is a freelance illustrator living in Switzerland. Her work has been recognized by the SOI Annual 61, Hiii Illustration and 3x3 Magazine and was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2018. She also received an Award from her home town Frauenfeld. Clients include Bombay Sapphire (Event), NorthSouth Books and Swiss Post. She menstruates once a month.
