Why did you make this work:
The project narrates the potential of layout structure as a form of storytelling device in comics through the experimentation of deploying panels to break down the concept of time into fragments. The aim is to deliver the narrative through non-linear reading paths and provide an interesting narrative experience to the readers.

How was the illustration used:
Graphic Novel

How did you make this work:
The narrative follows Abigail, a florist who is stuck in a loop of reliving 11th July through a cursed flower - Ylang Ylang. Her frail mother passes away as time runs in the 'actual world'. She will come to realise that the flower is the key to be with her mother forever. The story is broken down into 5 components of varying dimensions, housing an approach of layout composition each.

Biography:
ohingao is a Singapore based illustrator and graphic designer, graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts. He likes to experiment with animals and vibrant colours to create a surreal world within his illustrations.
