Why did you make this work:
The initial impetus for making this book was the fact that children's (and especially boys') interest in reading is decreasing. In this ghost story, the main character learns that when you read and use your imagination, you can experience great adventures. And at the same time you can also learn something about yourself and other people.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
Digital illustration (illustrator, procreate, photoshop) with hand-drawn textures scanned.

Biography:
Kati Närhi is a Helsinki-based illustrator and cartoonist. She graduated from Aalto University in Helsinki in 2001. Her clients include The City of Helsinki, OP bank branch and many Finnish publishing companies and magazines. She has made picture books and graphic novels. Her graphic novels have been translated into French, Italian and Czech.
