she/her - Why did you create this work?
I live in a busy city, and this book resonated with me. The brief described it "as a
book that would look at how people around the world have been reinventing and
reimagining their cities and neighbourhoods with creativity, inclusion and environmental sustainability at its core. The entry point will be through tangible “keys” that will be kid-sized tools to unlock the potential of placemaking". - How were your illustrations used?
'City of Neighbors', written by Andrea Curtis, was comprised of 18 double page spreads, a cover and spots to highlight ways in which people are making their neighbourhoods great: from lighting a gloomy alley to public sports parks. I drew from real life, from reference and from my imagination to bring the words to life and to make visual sense of how people create community together.
