Why did you make this work:
I had to to draw three full page illustrations for the Bauhaus now magazine. The illustrations were intended to tell a visual story along the article which featured german universities, that are build upon the the legacy of the Bauhaus education. The artwork had to show a modern aspect of todays studies and had the formal approach to have "zoom in" effect over the 6 pages of the article.

How did you make this work:
My idea was a contemporary interpretation of three iconic Bauhaus images. The famous painting by Oskar Schlemmer, the woman on the Wassily-chair and the classic Bauhaus Logo were combined with contemporary technologies such as drones, virtual reality and 3D-printing in an educational context. The overall style was heavily influenced by typical Bauhaus colors and shapes.

Biography:
Sebastian is an Art Director, Designer and Illustrator from Hamburg. With two hearts beating inside, he is doing minimalistic typographic design as well as colorful and edgy illustration work. His artworks are defined by a rough papercut-like vector style, grainy textures and well picked color compositions. He is also working with papercuts made from cardboard and paper, that benefit from the sensual, haptic feel of real materials.
