David Gilbert

David Gilbert (Chair), following a long and successful career in retail including being MD of Currys Ltd, COO of Dixons Stores Group worldwide, and MD of Waterstones Booksellers, David now devotes all of his time to the Creative Industries and the Arts. He is Chair of Creative United, an Arts Council backed company which delivers innovative finance for Creative Businesses. He is also Chair of the Writers Centre Norwich and Digventures archaeology.

Sam Arthur

Sam Arthur (Deputy Chair) is founding partner and CEO of Nobrow set up in 2008 as a visual narrative & graphic art publishing platform. Together with children’s book imprint Flying Eye Books their books define the picture book and art-comic genre. Nobrow/Flying Eye books publish around 40 books per year and have offices in London and New York. Sam is also co-founder and Director of the East London Comics & Arts Festival (ELCAF).

Roderick Mills

Roderick Mills is an international award winning Illustrator and film maker, represented in the UK and USA by Heart Artists’ Agent. Combined with his own creative practice he is also the Course Leader for Illustration at the University of Brighton. Contributes regularly to Varoom and Eye Magazines on subjects around Illustration and is the co-founder of MOKITA Illustration Forum.

Silvia Baumgart

Silvia Baumgart is an associate solicitor at James Ware Stephenson, a boutique law firm specialising in intellectual property working mainly with creative businesses. Prior to this, Silvia has worked for some 15 years in the creative sector in Germany and England in a range of positions in curatorial and educational projects at major public art galleries and art and design practice-based universities.

Darryl Clifton

Darryl Clifton studied Visual Communication at Kent Institute of Art and Design and Illustration at the Royal College of Art.  His wide career includes onedotzero, relaunching and directing re-launched Camberwell Press and co-founding Mokita. He is currently Design Programme Director and Course Leader BA (Hons) Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts, CCW, UAL. He holds positions on the editorial boards of the Journal of Illustration and Varoom.

Vicki Willden Lebrecht

Vicki Willden-Lebrecht founded Bright Group International in 2003, now a fast-growing and established children’s literary and illustration agency with a global reach. She has spent the last 13 years as principal author/illustrator Agent for the company, and now MD, leading the way for innovation and foresight in the recruitment and development of Bright artists’ work.
