UK Copyright Highway code
Feel you are not entirely sure you understand copyright? Need to explain it to a potential client? The British Copyright Council, of which AOI are a member have just published the UK Copyright Code which is being promoted through the UK’s creators’ organisations.
Copyright is the foundation on which illustrators make a living. As soon as an image is created the maker owns the rights in that image. Ownership of the artwork they have created allows them to licence the work to their clients in return for a fee based on the usage of the work, the territory it is used in, and the duration period of the licence.
