- Why did you create this work?
This work is based on my dream. One day, I dreamt that I lost a lot of teeth, and in the dream, a dentist replaced my missing teeth with diamonds, all for free. When I woke up, I shared this with my friends and discovered that many people had similar dreams of losing teeth. I found it fascinating, so I created this painting. - How were your illustrations used?

Yan is now a second-year student at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the illustration practice program. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2022. She likes to draw inspiration from her life experiences, traveling, and imagination.
