This illustration presents the world we live in today and the psychological impact of it. Our world now is surrounded by walls and screens. We see the nature in our screens rather than really being in the nature. The children today have a very different childhood compared to decades ago.

Xinyue Chen (under the artist name Maiyashu) is a book artist and illustrator based in New York. Their works explore emotions, memories, identities and people’s connection with the environment in a poetic way. Most of their works are done in traditional media.
