  • Why did you create this work?
The client, a scientific magazine publisher, asked me to illustrate an article about how brain technology can give you the best sleep ever. His brief was to illustrate a woman sleeping, with a calm and serene face, surrounded by waves wrapping around her, both resembling a duvet and brain waves.
  • How were your illustrations used?
The illustration was used as the cover for a New Scientist Magazine issue.
  • What materials and techniques did you use?
First, I did a few digital sketches to share with the client. Once approved I tried a few colour options digitally. For the final piece I drew the female character with pencil on paper and painted the plain background with gouache. Next I scanned it and digitally added lines, details and adjusted the colour tones.
