- Why did you create this work?
This is a illustration design school project. I currently live in Seoul, South-Korea and here in Seoul there is are huge annual illustration & Character fairs, where not only children but also many "kidults" go. As a kidult and an audience of this fair, i made illustrations and designed package and products for this event based on the " Kidults characters" that i drew. - How were your illustrations used?
This was exhibited at the 2022 Seoul National Univ. design department year-end art exhibition. The character illustrations that i designed were made in to A2 size posters and products like paper bag, stickers, tickets and tin case products. They were displayed together with the digital illustrations artwork. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I mainly used Adobe photoshop and illustrator. "Kidults" is a term for adults whose interests or media consumption is traditionally seen as more suitable for children. I tried to capture the joyful and youthful energy of "kidults" through simple but vibrant vector images. I made 12 variations of characters through the combiantion of simple shapes that reminds the shape of children's toys. - Was this project commissioned?
