New TalentWhy did you make this work:
This picture book project introduces seven cats doing different types of jobs. The purpose of this project is to give children aged between 5-10 inspiration for what they can be when they grow up. Aiming to build an engaging narrative for children, I have cats as characters and create imagined jobs and funny episodes for them based on cats' habits.
What materials and techniques did you use?:
The materials I used is a mix of watercolour, coloured pencils, oil pastels and acrylic. I liked the boldness and playfulness of the line work with acrylic, so I applied this feature to the cat drawing. Since my cat drawing is already busy with textures, I keep the background flat and simple with watercolour so that my illustration is breathable.
