The colorful tales

Design Product & Packaging

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
The collection was created to make falling asleep for kids even more pleasant and to establish an evening reading ritual for a family. The master picture is a huge illustrated painting with 30 unique fantastic characters—fanciful and having their own temperaments. The Unknown Author wrote colorful poems about eight of personas. Now one can read about them in the book and see on the bedclothes.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
The analog stage of creating is a mixed technique (mix media) on paper: watercolor, ecoline brush pen, markers and crayons. Then Photoshop stage enters—scans are processed and files are refined to prepare them for printing house. Bedclothes are made of soft satin cotton and book has a hard cover.

How were your illustrations used:
Based on the drawings 4 different bedding patterns were created—premium and seamless ones. The drawings were also placed in the book, together with additional illustrations. Both the bedclothes and the book constitute one holistic and complementary set, following my business idea—to create original story patterns that decorate textiles. That is the new collection in my brand ha! ha! For Kids!
