- Why did you create this work?
I started this project as a way to experiment with writing. It ended up being a silly, playful critique on the ever-present commodification of life. What happens when something financially worthless, but also fundamentally critical for the existence of an entire ecosystem, is forcibly captured and put up for profit? I found my answer, and then I just HAD to draw a few critters! - How were your illustrations used?

Other than a lot of pencil sketches and notes, I made these illustrations entirely digitally, with tools that emulate the effect of gouache or acrylic painting together with thicker, softer types of pencils and pastels. - Was this project commissioned?
