Why did you make this work:
This series, commissioned by Atavist, follows the author’s effort to solve a decades-old cold case: the murder of Harry Anglemyer, the openly gay man who ran Ocean City’s largest fudge empire. The illustrations depict key plot points and evidence that emerge as the story unfolds.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
Graphite on paper, scanned in, and digitally painted in Adobe Photoshop.

How were your illustrations used:
These illustrations were used to promote and accompany the digitally-published long-form article.

Biography:
NATE SWEITZER is a Chicago-born Illustrator who graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. His work illustrates human stories through conceptual solutions and textural mark-making. He specializes in publishing, editorial and poster illustration. His clients include the L.A. Times, Rolling Stone, NPR, ProPublica, Sports Illustrated Kids, The New Republic, and Forbes.
