Why did you make this work:
illustrations made for the design project at Parc Taulí Hospital: paediatric area.
The aim of the project is to minimise the impact that the hospital experience may have on the child, through the use of graphics based on illustrations of marine animals all over the hospital.
Project done with Arauna Studio and Rai Pinto Studio (concept and creative direction).


What materials and techniques did you use?:
The original illustrations were done in vector format, adding manual textures and halftones in some details.
The volumetric pieces were made in wood, plywood, coloured plastic and other materials.

How were your illustrations used:
The illustrations were applied in all kinds of spaces in the paediatric floor: rooms, corridors, waiting rooms, medical consultations.

Biography:
Miguel Bustos describes himself as a “qualified graphic designer turned illustrator”. Born in la Sénia in 1984, he currently supplements his work as an illustrator by running engraving and screen printing workshops at the Eina University School in Barcelona.
