Why did you make this work:
Biedowo Music Fest is an annual jazz festival in Poland. Each year it has a different theme and ID. This year's theme was Biedowo Universe - a retro-futuristic cosmic interpretation of this small festival created by artists for artists. Therefore I've created this illustration consisting of a "Biedowo" Planet and a symbolic person being held up by hands as a symbol of teamwork and collaboration.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
It is a digital illustration - the sketch was created in Procreate, vector outlines in Adobe Illustrator and detail in Adobe Photoshop.

How were your illustrations used:
The illustration was used as a poster, on festival flyers, and on merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, and postcards.

Biography:
Mary Zaleska is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator from Gdańsk, Poland. She has gained her design education at Hofstra University in New York which she has finished with an honorary degree. In 2018 she came back to Poland where she explores the local artistic community and takes part in art fairs and exhibitions. Her clients include Newsweek, Bacardi, IQOS, Glamour, Universal Music, etc.
