Why did you make this work:
A series of ceramic masks - a self-portrait. The series depicts my experience of social anxiety as a child. The mask "provides" a protective shell and presents a "perfect" appearance to the outside world but in the same time fails to stop the fears and emotions from bursting out.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
Recently I'm exploring the ceramic medium and combining it with painting. This allows me to add 3rd dimension to my illustrations.
In this series I've used white ceramic clay, underglaze colors and clear glaze.

How were your illustrations used:
Although the series was created before the tragic events of October 7, a painful context was added to it since. The masks that previously reflected my private emotions now echo the painful reality in which childhood is tied to pain. The series was presented as part of an exhibition showing Israeli artists works following the events of 7/10.
