- Why did you create this work?
My creative method is to try to recapture period buildings or places and to illustrate them in a style that suits the same period. I regularly refer to archival photos, which gives me the opportunity the capture the piece without any modern-day elements that interfere with the subject in its original form. Through this process, I try to create a period correct travel poster as a final outcome.
- How were your illustrations used?
The finished illustrations are printed on high quality paper stock and sold commercially as posters and postcards. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Referencing from archival photos, then illustrated entirely with a mix of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop depending on what is required for the illustration, final touch ups and colour correction is in Photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?
