  • Why did you create this work?
It's a commissioned piece that should accompany the article "Your DNA Can Now Be Pulled From Thin Air. Privacy Experts Are Worried." The art director send me the draft and the dimensions. The only direction I got was to "explore a sort of sinister angle on the whole thing".
  • How were your illustrations used?
It's the cover art of the May 16, 2023 issue of The NYT Science Times. Online it was published on May 15, 2023. "A DNA Quandary" is the printed title of the article by Elizabeth Anne Brown.
  • What materials and techniques did you use?
I made the drawing in Procreate on the iPad as well as the first colors. I finished the piece in Photoshop on the iMac/Macbook Pro.
