She/Her - Why did you create this work?
I wanted to create a sequence of illustrations that could tell a story without words. Elkie and Croc came about in response to exploring the beautiful relationships that children can develop with people who may unexpectedly come into their lives, such as a loving step-parent. As Croc's love for Elkie grows, Croc also becomes larger than life. - How were your illustrations used?
I have used these illustrations for my own portfolio, and they have since sparked the interest of a publishing company. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I drew the initial idea in pencil on paper and then rendered the work digitally through Procreate on the iPad. - Was this project commissioned?
