Why did you make this work:
My continued search for a connection to the natural world has been my recent main theme of work. I wanted to create a strong girl character and her chicken companion who explore the wilderness and find themselves generally comfortable as part of the natural world.



What materials and techniques did you use?:
My work is all drawn or painted in analogue, then coloured digitally.

How were your illustrations used:
Initially, I used the illustrations for 'Folktale Week 2023' but since then they have become part of a wider narrative I am currently working on.

Biography:
I have recently finished my MA in Illustration with a distinction at Falmouth University, UK and am currently based in Austria. Having been part of multiple circus projects, travelling the world, being the mother of two girls and living abroad in Spain and Scotland for several years influences my style and themes of interest.
