2024 | Longlist + Shortlist | Animation
- Why did you create this work?
Netflix were looking for an interactive animated project, so we pitched our story about an indoor cat and dog who lose their owner and must venture into the big wide world to find their ‘human’. It became the largest interactive project to ever be produced at Netflix, with over 87 BILLION different ways to experience every permutation of the story. - How were your illustrations used?
These illustrations show artwork that was used to conceptualize the look and tone of the project, storyboards we produced from the actual production, as well as stills from the animation and artwork that was used to promote and package the project on the Netflix platform. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The interactive movie was written in Final Draft and Branch Manager (a branching narrative software created by Netflix for writing and producing interactive content). The designs and storyboards were produced in Photoshop and Storyboard Pro, and it was animated and composited in Harmony and Fusion. - Was this project commissioned?
