Inspiration
I like how I was able to see my illustration on a physical material as a skinny scarf. The inspiration of the Silk Road trade between Venice and Guangzhou is also evident.
Materials
I did my initial explorations in pen and ink, then finished the illustration in Photoshop.
Process
I spent a lot of time doing endless research on the historical event. It also took long to find specific sea creatures, architects and boats.
Numbers
It took me about five weeks to complete the project.
Future
I strive to tell stories that console people and bring warmth into their lives.
Dream Commission
My dream commission is to work on a surface illustration for fashion companies.
