Creative Commons is an organisation that put together an open use template licence system which is available for anyone to use for either their own work or for their clients. It's important that anyone using or being asked to use a Creative Commons licence understands the potential issues around their use.

What is Creative Commons licensing?

There are 6 licences offered by Creative Commons with substantial differences between them. They range from offering very broad usage rights, including commercial use, to more limited usage rights. Once a Creative Commons (CC) licence has been attached to a work it cannot be terminated as they have no time limit attached to them.
