How to Get Started Animating Your Work Members  

This is a short guide to getting started in animation without any prior experience. Anyone with an illustration background can quickly get their work moving, and with some practice you will find a movement style that complements your illustration work.

Software

You don?t need specialised software to begin animating. As an illustrator you probably have access to some Adobe products. Adobe Photoshop is great for starting out with frame-by-frame or cel animation. This technique is simply the placing of one image (frame) after another on a timeline. When using Photoshop to animate its helpful to install a plug-in which adds animation tools to the inbuilt timeline. Either Animator?s Toolbar Pro or AnimDessin2. 

Procreate Dreams is another great option for hand drawn animation and - if you already own an iPad - very affordable. It?s ideal if you want something easy to learn and you don?t need to create extremely co
