- Why did you create this work?
This artwork is a commission from director Siqi Zhang, for her film"Sleepless" (Chinese title: 眠). Director wanted a poster that reflects the protagonist's identity as a foreigner growing up in US. The anxiety stemming from the cultural differences and her desperate dsire to assimilate into society. The love from her grandmother and grandmother's voice in recorder are her sources of comfort. - How were your illustrations used?
