Why did you choose to enter this work?
I hope that my illustrations give you a pleasant feeling, and arouse the desire to close your eyes and dive into your own dream world. Dreaming is crucial.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The boundless imagination that we use to shape our dreams has so much to do with my work. In fictional illustrations, anything is possible.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I love seeing my illustrations in this amazing presentation alongside all the other wonderful projects. Positive feedback is so motivating.
Where do you usually work?
My favorite place to draw is in my light-filled workspace, which is also my living room.
How long did it take to complete your project?
It must have been at least a year. There's a kind of magic to creating a picture book that drives me on and reassures me that no matter how long it took, my time was well invested.
What is your dream commission?
Dream commissions challenge me and introduce me to topics that I would not have discovered otherwise.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I particularly like to focus on nature, people and emotions.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Find your own visual language with which you can interpret your personal view of things.
What are your plans for the future?
Picture book stories and illustrations will definitely accompany me for a very long time.
