Why did you choose to enter this work?
The film celebrates the importance and reverence of the natural world and this beautiful planet we live on, which couldn't be more appropriate for the time we live in now.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The diverse range of anecdotes in the script from various different speakers allowed us to explore so many different visual aspects of the natural world; animals, forests, the ocean, outer space...
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I'm really excited that it's given a platform for the film to be seen more widely and hopefully more people can be reminded of the message the film conveys.
Where do you usually work?
I usually work in my shared studio but also sometimes at home, with my Wacom cintiq drawing tablet to do all my illustration and animation.
How long did it take to complete your project?
About 5-6 months
What is your dream commission?
I would love to illustrate some food packaging or do some illustrative branding for a restaurant or food brand. It would also be amazing to illustrate a children's book.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Usually anything that isn't a human being! So animals, anthropomorphic objects, imaginary or abstract beings...
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Just keep drawing the things that you like drawing!!
What are your plans for the future?
I'm expanding my directing portfolio with my co-director and collaborator Gabriel Greenough with more short films that showcase our range of mixed media skills.
