She/Her - Why did you create this work?
I drew different Italian improv comedy( Commedia dell'arte) characters for different olive oil flavors. Based on their taste, I paired them with three different times of the day to show that olive oil is a part of people's daily lives. Different scenes and characters correspond to different oil flavours, making the whole creation process interesting and delicious! - How were your illustrations used?

Jianye (Jane) is a young Chinese illustrator and traditional Chinese calligrapher based in Syracuse, NY. She majored in traditional Chinese calligraphy for 4 years in Hangzhou, China and then turned to illustration art at Syracuse University for 3 years of further study. Jane loves to explore original graphic art with simple shapes and a few line works, combining soft colors, patter, and textures. - Where are you currently based?
