Why did you choose to enter this work?
This work is my latest pop-up book that I created with Gallimard Jeunesse publishing. I spent a lot of time conceiving it and for me, it is the most important project I made in these last few years.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love the way that we see the light change and the time flow through the pages. From the morning dew to the deep dark night. For me it is like a meditation.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I have already submitted my works a few times before, but it is the first time that I am shortlisted ! It is so exciting to see my book among all these wonderful entries from all around the world !
Where do you usually work?
I work in my studio in Paris, near Bastille that I share with my dearest colleagues artists. But I also travel a lot to meet my little readers, so sometimes I work from trains or a hotel room.
How long did it take to complete your project?
It took me more than a year.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Plants and trees.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Have confidence in yourself and don't be afraid to do create what you REALLY want to.
What are your plans for the future?
I have some ideas for my future pop-up books and also a scenography project in sight!
