Why did you choose to enter this work?
We entered "Night Market" to merge our animation passion with a meaningful message on childhood cancer through its vibrant, whimsical style, aiming to reach and uplift young patients via WIA.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
We love creating fantasy elements and using hand-drawn textures in "Night Market."

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Being shortlisted for WIA2024 validates our dedication, opens doors to recognition and collaborations, and connects us with talented artists and industry professionals, which is very exciting.

Where do you usually work?
We usually work remotely, sharing files in the same drive. We meet at the studio once a week for discussion.

How long did it take to complete your project?
The project took about eight months in total: three to four months in pre-production and another four months in production, balancing alongside our school coursework.

What is your dream commission?
My dream commission is to continue creating short animated films that resonate with children, using hand-drawn animation techniques to bring vibrant and engaging stories to life.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
My favorite subjects to draw are character designs that blend fantasy elements with real-world inspirations. I have a particular fondness for drawing animals and creating adorable characters.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Focus on leveraging your 2D art strengths and using textures to recreate a hand-drawn feel. Dynamic illustrations can greatly enhance animated work.

What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I aim to create more independent animated shorts from a child's perspective, exploring worldly observations, and expand through commercial collaborations.
