What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I like how the sofa is integrated into the scenes in different ways, supporting each scene's message.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Since becoming self-employed as an illustrator, I have never submitted work for an award. Spontaneously, I decided to give it a try. I am thrilled that my work made it onto the shortlist.
Where do you usually work?
I generally enjoy developing image ideas outdoors. Having things happening around me inspires me. Later, I finalize the illustrations at my workspace.I share a studio with10 other people.
What is your dream commission?
I am dreaming of illustrating a children's book: a funny, silly book that encourages kids.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I particularly love drawing characters.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Don't compare yourself too much with other illustrators... Be yourself, and do what brings you joy!
What are your plans for the future?
Longer term, I would really like to create more products for my small webshop. Over the years, I've collected many ideas but haven't found the time to bring them to life.
