WIA2024 – Longlist Category Highlights: Advertising
The Longlist has landed! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be showcasing some of the fantastic entries selected for our Longlist from New Talent and Professional illustrators.
This year The World Illustration Awards saw more entries than ever before, with our WIA 2024 Longlist featuring 500 projects from illustrators all over the world, across ten categories.
Our Advertising Category features a breadth of work created for commercial campaigns, products and services both online and in the wild.

Christopher DeLorenzo
HOKA – Say Yes to Less
Professional
Created by Christopher De Lorenzo for sports brand HOKA.
With an emphasis on sustainability and the outdoors, this illustration explores the brands connection to nature and their pledge to produce less waste by using less materials.
Captured beautifully with a fluid use of animation, Christopher blends elements of nature with outdoor sports activities.
Christopher’s piece was hand sketched before being digitally recreated using After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Christopher DeLorenzo is a graphic artist living and working in Massachusetts, USA.
El Marquès
Danone – Nutriendo la Diversidad
Professional
“Nourishing Diversity” was commissioned in celebration of Pride 2023.
Inspired by traditional 50’s and 60’s Danone ads. El Marquès uses their graphic, mid-century style to celebrate diversity across the city.
Illustrating a mixture of diverse families, the campaign was featured on billboards, the subway and bus stops, adding vibrance across the city.
Adrià Ferrer Marquès (El Marquès) is an illustrator based in Spain, with a strong influence from poster art and jazz covers creating a nostalgic and classic style.

Gochiso Festival
Professional
This illustration was created for ‘Gochiso’ one of Japan’s most loved food festivals.
The illustration celebrates the vibrance of Japanese food and the sense of community the festival has in Japanese culture.
Using a playful digital style the eye catching poster aims to bring people together.
Somus is a freelance illustrator based in Peru. Creating colourful, energetic, and playful work.
Cosmicnutz
BECA X American Express Collaboration
New Talent
In celebration of American Express’s New Year collaboration with BECA, Cosmicnutz illustrated a bustling kitchen scene.
This detailed illustration showcases the speed and ease of American Express’s services. The campaign was later showcased on Beca’s Instagram.
With a real sense of movement, this illustration was created using Procreate.
Cosmicnutz is a multidisciplinary illustrator based in both Istanbul and Berlin with work inspired by daily life.
Ciel Chen
Girls in New York City
New Talent
This beautiful personal piece was created as part of a series of posters for Art On Link screen in New York City.
Using the iconic New York cab yellow and featuring packed news stands, their illustration perfectly captures the energy of the city.
Ciel Chen is an illustrator based in the US creating narrative and editorial illustrations.
Luca Furniss
‘Ghost in the Shell’
New Talent
Created as part of a university brief, this animation inspired by ‘Ghost in the Shell’ showcases an alternative poster design for the Japanese Manga and film.
Using a glowing colour palette, blender and Adobe After Effects to capture a dream like sense of movement.
Luca Furniss is an Illustration student from the UK at Sheffield Hallam University.
