WIA2023 Cross Category Award Shortlists Are Announced!
Alongside the 10 categories for the World Illustration Awards, we also work with our sponsors to select illustrators from our Shortlist for a range of Cross Category Awards.
We are delighted to share the shortlist selections for the 4 Cross Category Awards for 2023.
All winners will be announced at the WIA2023 Awards Night 12 September!
The AOI Members Cross Category Award Shortlist

Eight illustrators have been shortlisted for the WIA2023 AOI Members Cross Category Award! These projects have been selected by the AOI Membership team.
The winner of this award will win a year-long AOI Membership plus Folio, a copy of the Guide to Law and the current Directories, and a profile feature on the AOI website.
The DI Cross Category Award Shortlist

A total of 12 illustrators have been shortlisted for the WIA2023 DI Cross Category Award.
This shortlist was selected by: Bob Pastore, Illustration Director, Workbook Creative Inc; Marika Carradine Lind, Marketing & Social Media Manager, Workbook Creative Inc; Cliff McIntyre, Sr Marketing Consultant, Workbook Creative Inc and Tamra Dempsey, President, Workbook Creative, Inc.
The DI Award winner, selected from all the Professional projects shortlisted for WIA2023 will receive a single-page marketing package in the Directory of Illustration, valued at $4,330 US Dollars. The program includes a 100-image professional portfolio on directoryofillustration.com plus a one-on-one consultation with a professional Directory of Illustration marketing consultant on how to best present your work to the American market.
The Huion Innovation Award Cross Category Award Shortlist

This award, Sponsored by Huion, celebrates innovative digital illustration from across the WIA2023 shortlist.
Huion is a China-based drawing tablet brand that provides drawing tablets, light pads, and pen displays, for beginners and professionals.
Its products are compatible with Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and can be used to create digital works, and photo editing.
The Shortlist of 10 projects, including the overall winner have been selected by members of the Huion Team, including Li Ming: Brand Director, Ryan Lai: Head of global business development, Dannie Huang: Marketing Manager, Luo feng: Design Department Manager, Xu Jie-yu: Planning Department Manager, Joyce Lee: Channel Management and Su Yu-dan: Senior Illustration Tutor.
The winner of this award will receive a Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (4K) pen display.
The SAA Agents Cross Category Award Shortlist

For the fifth year, the Society of Artists Agents are awarding an unrepresented New Talent illustrator a six-month trial of representation and mentoring.
The winner will be drawn from this shortlist of nine projects, which has been selected by Jac Lott (Illustration X), Alex Hadlow (The Artworks) and Caroline Thomson (Arena Illustration).
