This illustration was a graphic exploration of Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Mask of the Red Death". I thought of it as a freer and more personal interpretation of the story, more in line with my personal references of style and theme that I like to portray in my body of work, than a literal translation of the story or a faithful description of a scene.
