The World Illustration Awards 2023 Longlist features 500 projects by New Talent and Professional illustrators from all over the world across ten categories. This year, the awards continue to celebrate great illustration!

James Weston Lewis – A Walk in the Woods
James was approached by the Folio Society to design a 2 colour foil stamped cover, fully illustrated colour pages, a map, black and white spot illustrations, and a black and white title page for A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. All of these works were illustrated digitally.
James Weston Lewis has worked on children’s picture books in both fiction and non-fiction, and for a range of clients in publishing, design and editorial. He is based in Bristol, UK.
Melusina is the second release of a series of illustrated feminist fairy tales books for adults. Elisa is curating the whole series. After the Sibilla, the story is about Melusina, a woman that become a sort of double tail mermaid when her spirit breaks free. The coloring was created using Rebelle.
Elisa Seitzinger is a multi-awarded illustrator based in Italy.

Alba Domingo was born in Riudoms (Spain), where she’s currently based.
Stefan Schwandt – Roadside Picnic
These illustrations are based on the novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, a philosophical science fiction classic. The illustrations were created for the book illustration course at art school and in mind of a printed publication.
Stefan Schwandt is an emerging illustrator from Germany.
Adriana Komura – Abandoning a Cat
Illustrations for the cover and inside of Haruki Murakami’s book memoir ‘Abandoning a Cat’, in which the author writes about his memories of his father and their relationship from childhoold to adult life, and how it influenced his writings.
Adriana Komura has been working in illustration for advertising, animation, editorial, publishing and graphic design. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil.
Annalisa Bollin – Stati d’anima – Soul moods
“Stati d’anima” is a cycle of illustrations commissioned for a book, “I remember it as a happy day. Pages of life and wine”, that speaks about personal life experiences and unforgettable wines.
The technique used is a mix of embroidery, acrylic painting and collage on canvas.
Annalisa Bollini has worked with many international publisher. She was born in Turin, Italy.
