Klaus Piechocki
I’m Klaus Piechocki (“pier-ho-tski”) I’m a freelance tarot and oracle card illustrator and novelist based in West Yorkshire. I’m the illustrator and author of The Hierophanies Tarot.
I’m a proud bisexual trans man, and my work tends to be queer. Much of my self initiated work explores gender and diversity. An ongoing theme of my work is drawing beautiful and ornate portraits of men, because I think we don’t see enough positive representation of men and masc nonbinary people exploring femininity. I love fashion, curating objects and non-fiction.
I specialise in portraiture, narrative illustration and surface design. I work in both a semi-realistic style using pencils and copic markers, and also paint digitally. I often use analog and digital tools interchangeably for a single piece.
I recently published a self-initiated 81 card LGBTQ+ tarot deck, The Hierophanies Tarot. It’s currently being stocked in several shops, including Watkins Books, London.
I’m currently working on a new project about gothic uncanny archetypes.
I’d love to be commissioned for more card decks, and for concept and product illustration for board games.

Klaus PiechockiThe Hierophanies TarotThe Hierophanies Tarot deck is an inclusive, queer tarot deck, centering LGBTQ+ identities. The deck is a full deck of 81 digitally illustrated cards, including four alternate Lovers cards. The Hierophanies Tarot updates and reimagines the white, European, and heterosexual imagery of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. With bright, colourful illustrated cards illustrated by queer trans artist and practising witch Klaus Piechocki, the cards contain a diverse cast of people of different ethnicities, body shapes and gender expressions.
All 81 cards are fully illustrated, including pip cards! It was important to me that my deck have comprehensive readable pip cards.
The card backs are a custom linocut design containing motifs from the deck's Vessels suit. View Folio
