Jenny Elliott
As a Chartered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer with a background in built environment design, citizen engagement and data-driven design, I am specialised in creating engaging infographics, architectural illustration, and visual communication of cities, buildings, places, data and design processes to engage people in participatory planning processes, with technical accuracy and sensitivity.
Architectural and built environment illustration
My work often focuses on the documentation of street scenes, cityscapes, landmarks, buildings and local places for clients including corporate organisations looking for an engaging warm and personal way to share who and where they are based, universities showcasing new buildings or campuses, architectural and planning consultancies or local government wanting to visualise and share potential design options for future potential changes to the public realm or built environment, built environment charities wanting to communicate ideal street design layout or changes to the built environment that would benefit diverse user experiences of local people and promote green, sustainable cities, or local groups wanting to celebrate their local places. These are often created in Procreate with a degree of warmth and energy through the hand-drawn lines and colour work, or created in Illustrated as vector illustrations for clients looking for a vector illustration style.
Infographics: Visualising Data to Engage Stakeholders
I also offer services in graphic design, in particular infographics to visually communicate data in engaging ways to a wider audience, having won awards for my work in data-driven design processes and use of visual communication and design for stakeholder engagement. On the urban design projects I have led I’ve found visually communicating key concepts, places, data and summary reports through infographics, illustration and graphic design has helped projects succeed through improved communication, collaboration and creative thinking. I now offer these as standalone services for freelance illustration commissions, allowing me to slot into a wider built environment team to help engage wider audiences through creative illustrations and visual communication.
Live event illustration
In addition, I offer digital live event illustration services for clients, with a particular focus on topics including sustainable cities, active travel, green infrastructure, built environment, architecture and urban design.
